Microneedling

Dermapen skin needling also known as microneedling and is one of the most innovative rejuvenation therapies available today for treating various skin problems.

It is natural for the production of the fibroblast cells that stimulates the growth of the collagen and elastin to diminish as we age, which will result in saggy skin, wrinkles and fine lines, along with crepey and loose skin.

It is very important to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin for healthier and younger-looking, plus tighter skin, and lucky for us this can be done with microneedling.

Microneedling creates 1000's of micro-injuries or micro-channels in the skin which will ultimately trigger the growth of fibroblast cells that will stimulate the production of collagen, elastin, new fiber connections, tissue repair, cell turner, and so much more which all results in plumper and smoother-looking skin.

During a microneedling procedure, tiny medical grade needles are pressed into the top layers of your skin. As the skin care professional presses the needles into your face or targeted treatment areas, these needles prick the surface level of your skin and cause a slight injury to the skin that directly triggers your skin’s healing process

Rest assured these needles are short as well as thin, so each poke is pretty superficial and very minimally "damages" the epidermis (top layer of skin). Comparable to many types of laser treatments, microneedling is a highly effective and minimally invasive skin treatment that is becoming more prevalent in the world of skincare. In fact, microneedling is considered one of the least invasive skincare treatments but produces some of the best results.

So what does all that poking and pricking do? Basically, your cells go into maximum beautification mode during a microneedling session. Each prick creates a tiny wound that puts your skin’s healing systems into overdrive. As a result, your body creates new, collagen-rich tissue that creates noticeable lift and brightness to your skin. When an injury occurs, your skin will destroy the old, damaged tissue that causes acne scarring and wrinkles and will replace it with freshly produced collagen.

This treatment is best for all the skin types and tones, especially for people who are facing problems like acne scarring, wrinkling, fine lines and dilated pores, pigmentation issues and dullness. Microneedling can also help diminish over production of oil along with dryness.

After 3-6  or even 9 consistent sessions (typically 4-6 weeks apart) patients can expect to see the most optimal microneedling results. Though the skin needling procedure isn't nearly as invasive as other cosmetic procedures, your practitioner will apply a numbing cream to the treatment area to avoid discomfort of the fine needle pricking the skin surface.

You might know that microneedling treats the full face for the skin rejuvenation but it’s not restricted only to face, it can also treat other areas of the body like the abdomen, neck, chest, legs, arms, buttocks and hands. It can safely treat all forms of scars like acne or surgery scars, abdominal scars, stretch marks, self-harm scars, burn contracture scars and also tighten loose body skin.

Some of the benefits of microneedling can include:

  • Diminished fine lines and wrinkles

  • Tightened pores

  • Firmer and smoother skin texture

  • Improved appearance of spider veins, broken capillaries, acne scars, and age spots

  • A brightened and evened-out skin tone

  • Balanced oil production

  • Brightness and glow...bye bye dull skin!
